I was thinking about bike thefts today and how even when you lock up part of your bike people steal tires and such. I was thinking of a bike lock that would lock the frame and both tires with just one key or something. Basically apply locking your car doors to a bike
I was thinking about the grocery store map / shopping tool and have some good ideas. What if the screen has GPS location software on it. This would allow advertisements, recipes, and sales to be displayed on the screen in real time literally as you are passing by a product. It could look like one of the portable Garmin navigation systems and the shopping carts could have little slots or mounting brackets along the main handle of the cart. This would allow customers to return their units when they check-out. It would also prevent theft and damage due to outside weather conditions.
I think that sounds really neat. Maybe we should ask the Gorilla whether he thinks this idea is something Nottingham-Spirk might go for. If it is great if not we could always look into it more on our own.
Team - where is everyone??? We've got to get moving on this project. The only way this blog is going to work is if we all post ideas and feed off of one another.
I was rereading my comment earlier and I figure I should clarify it. What we need to decide is have we thought of a product or a service? I think we can market this as a product. The great thing about this opportunity is that after we sell the initial product we've already thought of a ton of value added strategies to keep bringing in revenue. I think we could patent this device and protect market share through contracts with grocery stores and such. Either way we need a lot more discussion and to get moving in some direction because we only have 2.5 weeks to have everything done. And looking at the assignment there is a ton to do.
I really like the idea of the device providing shoppers with recipe ideas. One challenge would be providing the shopper with a copy of the recipe so they can use it at home. There is no way they'd be able to remember the recipe from the screen on the cart. I'm thining the shopper could provide and e-mail address and the recipe would be sent over the internet. Another possibility might be having copies of recipe cards at the front of the store that you can pick up after checking out.
The unit would charge overnight and whenever customers were not using it. At the front of the store there could be a station where the units would be picked up and dropped off by customers. Remember that the actual unit will be like a Gramin GPS device and will snap into a mounting slot on the shopping cart. When a customer is done shipping, the unit will be returned and placed back in the charging station.
The water sprays goes off at the set time. I believe we dedfinitely can sell this if we manufacture it really cheap. It will not be a necessity product but a fun product available in different colors and caartoon images, especially segmented towards children.
A toy or antyhing that hangs over small kids bed, and that starts moving or starts playing some good music whenever the baby starts crying. The device would respond whenever the babay starts crying.
Normally mothers have to wake up and put the baby to sleep before going back to sleep again. This can be manufactured at a cheap cost and would work on 2 AA batteries.
I can visualise a toy with a central movable rotor with tentacle like parts around it that start moving when the baby cries and also starts playing music
How about a tie that already has a knot, so that we do not have to go through the hassel of tying the knot everytime we need to wear it. There could be a small button at the back, so whenever we have to wear it just put on the button and thats it, wearing it and removing it will be really very easy and less time consuming.
When i was talking with Prof Osborne he told me to consider on this idea. An antibacteiral solution that is sprayed automatically on the commode after the person gets up. I know at present there are papers and other stuff that is used. Even then the question of hygiene still exists . The user in this case will not be household people but then it could be schools, collages, airports, government offices, corporate blds etc. in this case the antibacterial soln already exists, we just need to find a method how will the soln be sprayed automatically and how will it either dry up or vapourize up before any other person enters.
The tie with a knot in it already exists...the clip on tie, also i know that this does not look as good as a tie in which you tie your self.
Also the mop with water and soap already combined exists currently in may forms, the swiffer wet jet, the wet/dry vaccuum. So I do not think these are ideas worth pursuing.

ReplyDeleteHey the problem with the GPS system is that how are u going to charge it? where are u going to place the charging port??
ReplyDeleteHve ut hought about it?

ReplyDeleteAn alarm clock with a water spray:

Mop with a soap & water dispenser:
ReplyDeleteA small button on the mop that can dispense soap and water solution to effectively clean stains.
It can be made at almost negligible additional price to that of a mop.
In the dispenser you can add anything like disinfectant, soap, water, perfumes etc..
All the above mentioned 3 ideas are not available in the market and even after googling for 35-40 mins, nothing on similar lines was found
