An Electric Coffee Cup

i was wondering whether we can think of a rechargable battery or something which would make the coffee in the mug to stay hot for a longer period....in the sense these coffee mugs hold heat for a specific amount of time...say an hour maximum...although dis varies depending on the external weather as well as the quality of the mug...we should start talking about this in the next meeting.may be we could design a small battery which is rechargable and which would keep the coffee hot for an increased period of time. Also since electronics are pretty cheap dis is an economically feasible product. Also since it is rechargable it does not produce any waste to the environment and hence is partly environmentally friendly....

  1. I found this website in which a company has developed a self-heating coffee cup that is disposable. Haven't found anything that is battery operated yet, but I have found one that runs off of DC power and comes with a car power adapter.

I'll keep digging because I like the idea. I don't think you'd need it to last more than 2 hours. To save space, we could use a custom rechargeable battery similar to some electronic units we build here at work. They are very thin (about 2" x 4" x 1/8 inch thick) and also flexible so it could be placed inside the wall of a coffee mug. After finishing their cup of coffee in the morning, they would just plug it in and recharge the mug overnight so it's ready for use the next morning. I think this idea has some potential.
